Friends of Agape help to Establish Churches by:
- Equipping Leaders: We provide support for more than 1,000 church planting coordinators and help train more than 40,000 new followers of Jesus Christ, house church leaders and church planting coordinators.
- Empowering the Poor: We support education that benefits hundreds of children each year and also provide support for community development services to improve health and standard of living.
- Engage the Scripture-Less: Because Scripture resources are extremely limited in newly pioneered regions of North India, Nepal and Bhutan, the ministry teams and churches we support are serving in partnership with well-known Bible translation agencies to expand scripture resources in 54 languages. The church-based teams speak the languages needing translation and are effective allies in collaborating to translate New Testaments, and eventually Full Bibles, and develop discipleship resources that have high levels of community acceptance. By using a church-based and technology-assisted process of translation, in many cases this work is being completed for use by the Church in under two years. Click here for more information. As soon as portions of Scripture are available, they are utilized for witness and help to accelerate disciple-making – see our Five Stage Translation Process.
Our ministry partners serve in more than 200 least-reached districts and among 212 unreached people groups with populations ranging from a high of 7.8 million to 25 thousand people. Most of the churches that we partner with begin as simple house churches among people who lead lives made difficult because of illiteracy and poverty, discrimination, alcohol and drug addiction. They respond to the love of Christ, not for any monetary benefits, but because they find peace, hope, meaning and purpose in life through the love of Jesus. These are the churches that we seek to ‘establish’ on strong scriptural foundations and on a principle of being life-long learners and service-minded Christ followers.
Friends of Agape ministry partners seek to be a blessing to their communities.
